Fiddle-Leaf Fig

Ficus lyrata

Named for its large, violin-shaped leaves, the fiddle-leaf fig makes a beautiful addition to any space.

Fiddle-leaf figs thrive in indirect sunlight, so keep them in a sunny room away from the window. Their leaves absorb a lot of moisture, so give them regular mistings and water when the top few inches of soil feel dry.

Plant Bio

Originally from the West African rainforests of Liberia and Gabon, the fiddle-leaf fig has become an incredibly popular houseplant all across the world. However, despite their global appeal these trees cannot grow anywhere other than West Africa in the wild. This is because the plant requires a specific type of wasp to reproduce – in fact, each individual member of the ficus family has its own breed of wasp that enables them to propagate.
