With over 600,000 tags on Instagram alone, the #plantshelfie is an essential marker of any plant lover’s home. Shelving is an ideal way to display your plant collection without taking up too much space, and of course they’re a great addition to your interior décor too.
Read on for 5 tips on styling your perfect plant shelfie.
1. Mix and match
Using a range of species is a sure way to create a plant shelf you’ll never tire of. Different species will give you a variety of shapes, colours, sizes and patterns so that your leafy collection will be a visually interesting addition to your space.

2. Trailing along
Trailing plants are ideal for placing on shelves because it gives them the space to grow as long as they want. Adding some trailing plants into the mix will give your home a luscious rainforest vibe, all you’ll be missing are the jungle cats (maybe your house cat would do?)

3. Top of the pots
Whatever the style of your home, plant pots are the perfect accessory to tie your shelf together. Whether you go for neutrals or bright colours, matching or a mix, pots are the final finish to make your plant shelf stand out.
P.S don’t forget to make sure that your plants have drainage! We recommend popping them directly into their decorative pots with their grow pots still on, that way they’ll have built-in drainage and it’s easy to lift them out if needed.

4. Colour pops
Green may be the first colour that comes to mind when you think about plants, but there are many varieties that have an extra pop of colour. Try using some Calatheas or Caladiums to make your plant collection stand out from the crowd.
